If you are anything like me, then you already have your fall decor out, your pumpkin spice candle burning, and are completely okay with enduring the summer temperatures while wearing jeans and boots because FALL IS HERE.
So today, in our home, we rang in the new season with a little craft party. Creating with my gal is a double win for me. We get to make art that Mommy gets to keep forever and bring out as decor every holiday season AND it keeps my busy bee occupied for a good hour (which is crucial some days).
Hand and foot print crafts are my favorite. I love the idea of documenting her little fingers and toes because one day, they won’t be so little anymore.
She absolutely loved squeezing the paint in between her fingers and I will admit, there were a few tantrums when mommy stopped her from trying to lick her hand. (I know, I’m awful)
Let’s be honest, toddlers are not always the easiest to work with. Most of her hand prints came out looking like giant blobs but hey, they are Berklee’s giant blobs. I’ll just remember to write ‘hands’ on the masterpiece so I don’t look at it bewildered in years to come.
Here are our works of art that will be proudly displayed at the Garday Gallery. This was all so incredibly easy guys, and Berklee really did have so much fun.
We also decided this year in our family to do a thankful tree! We found our tree at Target and sat together at dinner to go over everything we were thankful for to put on the leaves of our tree.
Obviously, Austin and I decided what the leaves would say. But when I asked Berklee what she was thankful for, she said “Mama.” I’m not going to lie, it melted my heart a little bit. But then I remembered she answers everything with “mama” or “no.”
Oh well, I’ll still take it.
What are some other craft ideas you have for Fall?
What are some of your favorite family traditions?
I’d love to hear them all!
